A dad was left gobsmacked when he spotted a car completely wrapped in cling film in an Aldi car park. Paul Hart said he "couldn't believe his eyes" when he saw the bizarre sight from the rear window of his car, the ECHO reports.
The vehicle caused a fair bit of attention in the busy supermarket in St Helens and the shopper took to Facebook to share the strange sight. Many speculated that the move could have been an early April Fools prank but it turned out to be an unusual tradition among staff at this particular store.
Recalling the moment he saw it, Paul said: "I was just waiting with my son in the car and as I looked in the rear view mirror to check on him. I was shocked to see this car completely wrapped up in cling film.
"I genuinely had to look twice, I couldn't believe it. It was just so random to see a vehicle in the middle of a busy car park just sat there wrapped like it was. So bizarre."
After sharing a picture of the wrapped car online with the hope of an explanation, somebody replied: "April fools prank? So foolish they didn't look at the date?"
However, it appears the cellophane wrapping is an established leaving day prank for staff members' final shift at the store. The owner of the car took to Facebook to share their own post along with an image of the wrapped up motor.
They captioned the post: "Going to miss working with this bunch, it has been a pleasure working with you all. Thanks for putting up with me."
