Dad furious as son, 7, buys scratchcard from Asda with pocket money

A dad was furious after an Asda worker sold his seven-year-old son a £2 scratchcard.

James Fletcher-Retallick, 47, said he was "shocked" son Ronnie, seven, was able to make the purchase with his pocket money, despite being 11 years below the legal age limit - The minimum age to buy National Lottery scratchcards in the UK is 18.

James said Ronnie was with him during a trip to the store in Folkestone, Kent in August. The youngster went up to the cigarette counter, where it's claimed a male worker first offered him sweets - before allowing him to buy a scratchcard.
