- British father Joshua Foster has avoided prison after being fined €3,000 by a court in Cyprus over the death of his two-year-old son.
- The 37-year-old senior accountant had previously pleaded guilty to causing death through a reckless, rash or dangerous act.
- The toddler died on 12 July after falling nearly 40 feet from a fourth-floor hotel window in Chlorakas when Foster placed him on a sill mistakenly believing the window was closed.
- Paphos District Court heard that Foster lost control of his son in a fraction of a second while attempting to show him a view of a waterpark outside.
- Foster's defence team highlighted his clean record and profound remorse, noting that he had already spent eight days in custody following the tragic accident.
