A dad-of-three said his daughter was left 'traumatized' after he was attacked while walking his dog.
Stuart from Formby was out with his cockapoo and eleven-year-old daughter when he was violently attacked by an Irish Wolf Hound. The incident took place on April 6th at around 8 pm by the Cabin Hill Nature reserve in Formby.
Stuart, who did not want to give his full name, said he was walking along the footpath when a man with five dogs approached him. One dog moved away from the pack and suddenly sprung for his four-month-old puppy Alfie.

Speaking to the ECHO he said: "A big Irish Wolf Hound approached us and it went for Alfie but because I had him on a lead I was able to pull him away. I'm in no doubt this dog would have ripped him to shreds."
"As I've lifted Alife up into the air the dog has jumped up grabbed hold of my left arm and taken a chunk out of it. The bite had ripped through my coat."
Stuart said the owner of the other dog caught up but did not make an effort to control it and after a brief confrontation he left without apologising. Stuart did not not realise the severity of his injuries after the dog owner had left.
He continued: "My daughter had to carry our dog home for over a mile and then I had to spend the night in A&E. I've been put on antibiotics, I've had a tetanus shot and stitches.
"My daughter was traumatized as she loves the new puppy and she was worried about him being killed and equally has just seen a big dog latch on to her dad's arm. So she has been pretty upset through the whole thing and is reluctant to take the dogs on a walk now. I dread to think what would have happened if she was walking him on his own. It does not bear thinking about."
"I just don't want his to happen to anybody else and I hope this dog is found as it is not safe to be in public."
Stuart said he has reported the incident to the police and is awaiting a response.
