Dad cooking young son's tea horrified as rat appears in kitchen next to him

A family have been forced to live with mould and rats despite pleading with their housing provider to solve the problems.

Jamie Burns, 26, along with his girlfriend Quiana Evans, 25, and son Ziyah Burns, one, have been living with rats and mould on and off for almost two years, despite claiming to have raised it with their housing provider Plus Dane Housing. The couple applied to move into the home when they found out Quiana was pregnant but didn't move from their one bed home until their son was two months old.

Jamie told the ECHO they were plagued with problems as soon as they moved in to the house on Smollett Street in Bootle, he said: "We don't know what to do anymore. My partner has broken down.
