Dad high on drugs bit ex-girlfriend and attacked her with a mallet
A man bit his ex partner and beat her brother with a rubber mallet in a vicious attack.
Jason Whinnett drank brandy and smoked cannabis before going to the home of his partner’s brother and attacking them both.
The 51-year-old also smashed up a coffee table and a TV during his attack on January 17 this year.

Liverpool Crown Court heard on Wednesday how Whinnett had received upsetting news prior to the attack but then reacted by taking it out on his now ex partner, whom he had never before assaulted.
Matthew Conway, prosecuting, said Whinnett went round to his ex partner’s brother’s house just after drinking and taking drugs.
Once he was in the house he then punched his ex partner numerous times before picking up a rubber mallet that was in the hall and hitting her with that as well.

Streets in Bootle, Everton and Anfield also make the top 10 list for the least expensive streets with 'L' postcodes.

Storm Eunice live updates as Met Office issues 'danger to life' weather warning
An amber weather warning has been issued for Merseyside as Storm Eunice is set to hit.
The Met Office has upgraded warnings across the country, with the highest level alert of Red being issued to coastline of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset as well as the south coast of Wales.
While amber warnings, the second highest alert level, for wind are in place across the whole of England, including Merseyside.

The warnings come into effect from 7am until 12pm on Friday.
Storm Eunice is predicted to bring in winds around 90mph in coastal areas while inland areas could still see gusts up to 80mph.
The Met Office has stated that there could be a "danger to life" as a result of extremely strong winds.
