Dad found dead with 'hazardous substances' on body named as family pays tribute and murder probe continues

The family of a man whose body was found dumped in the street covered in 'potentially hazardous' substances has paid tribute to him. A murder investigation was launched following the grim discovery in Wigan on Thursday night.

Police have tonight confirmed the man's identity as that of 38-year-old Liam Smith. Paying tribute to him, Mr Smith's family said in a brief statement: "Liam was kind hearted, funny, the life and soul of the party.
