A dad claims he is often told he looks 20 years younger thanks to a strict gym regime that aims to make him look like the Terminator.
Perry Higley, 60, works out six days a week in hope of emulating his idol Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The builder and dad-of-seven started going to the gym in his 20s and has kept working hard to maintain his bulging muscles and rock hard abs.
He trains a different muscle group each day and keeps a clean diet.
"There's no secret. It's just training and diet," Perry told Essex Live.
"I've always watched what I eat and liked to do lots of exercise to keep myself fit and healthy.
"I'm always mistaken for being about 20 years younger than I am. A few days ago, when I told someone my age while in the gym, their jaw hit the floor.
Perry said a lot of people "get jealous" and accuse him of taking steroids when they don't want to put in the work.
"People can say what they want. I don't care," he continued.
"I have a better body than most blokes half my age. The secret is just committing because nothing comes easy."
Perry eats a diet of chicken, steak, sweet potatoes, broccoli and raw eggs which he has stuck to rigidly for decades.
His children are between the ages of 36 and nine but, alongside being a dad, he still finds time to spend 10 hours a week in the gym.
Perry limits his alcohol intake and even sticks to his diet when he goes out for a meal.
But he claims he has no regrets because of the health benefits that come with his rigid diet.
"I'm always mistaken for being 20 years younger than I am," Perry said.
"I'd say 70 per cent of that is down to diet but I love going to the gym too."
He added: "Sometimes I can't be bothered but when you walk back out the door after a session, it makes it all worthwhile and I'm glad I did it."
Perry said lots of people criticise him and imply he has taken a shortcut to his toned body, such as using steroids.
But they could not be further from the truth.
"It's not about shortcuts, it's about eating the right food, training and not getting drunk every night," Perry said.
"You have to have the right mindset. It's about determination to get where you want to be."
