Dad, 36, 'never made it home' after falling to his death at work

A company has been fined £120,000 after a dad fell to his death from the roof of a building site.

Dennis Vincent and another worker were using ropes to install a lightning protection system to the front of an office block in Warrington which was being converted into flats. The 36-year-old was lowering the access equipment from the roof, using a rope attached to a frame at roof level and a handrail at ground level.

As he did so, both he and the frame fell from the roof to the ground. Dennis was taken to Aintree Hospital following the fall on February 24, 2021 at Palmyra House, Palmyra Square, and later died on February 25, 2021.
