A family has paid tribute to a "brilliant" dad who died after being found lying in his garden by neighbours.
Kieran Taylor, 32, suffered a bleed on the brain days after being told he had a tumour pressing on his abdominal gland.
The dad-of-three had become seriously unwell on July 11, and was taken to hospital in Walton, Liverpool by ambulance.
After returning home, he was found unresponsive in his front garden with his wife, Donna Taylor, rushing home to find neighbours giving him CPR, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Donna, 35, said: "The kids saw him lying there but they thought he was sunbathing because that is what he always did. I had to stand to the side of Kieran and tell them to go straight in."
He was taken back to hospital and put on a life support machine but the next day his liver and other organs started to fail.
Doctors said they could operate on him, but he would have no quality of life and so the decision was made to turn off his life support.
Donna said: “He was too independent and he wouldn’t have wanted his kids to see him like that. The doctors came to the decision, after they asked us about what he was like as a person, to turn off the machines and see how he got on.
“He went as soon as they turned the machine off.”
Kieran and two of his children were diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) - a genetic condition that causes tumours to grow along the nerves.
He was a carer for his five-year-old son Blake, who also has sleep apnoea, and looked after his four-year-old daughter Willow. He had a third child, aged seven, named Bobby.
Donna added: “He just got on with everyone and was very loving. He was very independent he wouldn’t let anyone help him out. He liked to do it all himself. He was a brilliant father and a loving husband.”
Earlier this week, Donna and her children let go of balloons outside their home to mark what would have been Kieran's 33rd birthday.
She said: “The kids say, ‘every time we let a balloon off it goes to Daddy’. Willow tells people ‘Daddy is in heaven with the angels’."
A fundraiser has been set up by her sister-in-law Stephanie Jackson to help towards costs for his funeral, and has raised over £4000 at the time of writing.
It says: "As this is a massive shock to the family and due to finding out so recently about the tumor Kieran had no life insurance and any he would of had would have been invalid.
"We are doing to help our Donna and the kids kindly put Kieran peacefully to rest in best way we possibly can."
Kieran's funeral will be held at Anfield Cemetery and Crematorium on July 27.
