Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf is coming off a 90 reception, 1,048 yard season. Will the Los Angeles Rams have an answer for Metcalf in Week 1?
Buy Seahawks TicketsAfter winning Super Bowl LVI, the Rams were dismal in 2022. Their defense ranked No. 21 in opponent third-down conversion percentage and they allowed an average of 22 pass completions a game. With defensive tackle Aaron Donald back healthy, the Seahawks would be wise to attack the Rams in the pass game. Jalen Ramsey is no longer with the Rams and this means that defensive coordinator Raheem Morris will need to find an answer for Metcalf in the secondary.

With wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tyler Lockett posing as additional threats for Seattle’s pass game, double-teaming Metcalf may present 1-on-1 opportunities for others.
As both teams prepare the Xs & Os for Week 1, expect offensive coordinator Shane Waldron to target Metcalf in the red-zone and on “shot plays.” The Seahawks offense totaled 50 pass plays of 20+ yards or more last season. If Sunday is any indication of last year’s offense, expect Metcalf to play a huge factor.
