Rangers have confirmed the signing of Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers on a 4-year deal as he becomes Michael Beale's sixth summer recruit.
The Light Blues went back and forth with the newly-relegated Serie B outfit over the Nigerian international, but terms were agreed by both parties over a permanent deal after the chance of a loan deal was mooted. Now Dessers joins Brighton winger Abdallah Sima in arriving at Ibrox to bolster Beale's squad, adding to the acquisitions of Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Sam Lammers.
Dessers bagged double figures in 32 appearances despite the Italian side's relegation from Serie A last season and it's hoped the 28-year-old will be able to bring that goalscoring form with him to Glasgow.
He told the Rangers website: “I am really happy, it is a big relief to finally be here. There have been some long days and some stressful days, but it is a great feeling to finally be here.
"The history of the club, the fans, the stadium, it's massive but next to that I look at what is here at this moment. I had really good talks with Michael Beale about his plans, the ideas of what he wants on and off the pitch and I thought that could be a really good fit for me and for the team so I am happy to be here."
