Cyriel Dessers Rangers transfer talks 'well advanced' as Cremonese reach compromise on striker fee

Talks between Rangers and Cremonese to sign Cyriel Dessers are 'well advanced' according to a report.

The Nigerian is set to leave the Italian outfit after they were relegated from Serie A. Record Sport exclusively revealed that Cremonese were holding out for the £6.5million they paid Belgian Pro League club Genk last summer to land Dessers. Now Calciomercato is reporting that a breakthrough has been reached. They claim Gers are confident of landing the 28-year-old and have agreed a fee of €4.2million with a further payment of €1million to be ponied up if certain criteria are met.

That would take the value of the potential deal to €5.2million - just under £4.5million in sterling. A successful capture of Dessers may not be the end of the striking additions at Ibrox, however. Rangers have been tracking Antalyaspor's Haji Wright. With Alfredo Morelos gone and Antonio Colak told he can leave the club this summer, Michael Beale will require further reinforcements up front, although whether his budget will stretch to adding Wright as well remains to be seen.
