BIRMINGHAM: Lovepreet Singh likes to prepare himself for a lift by listening to Punjabi songs. He says the tunes give him an adrenaline rush. These days, Lovepreet is listening to Sidhu Moosewala's numbers, and that showed in the celebrations after the weightlifter won bronze in the 109kg category.
Punjabi rapper Moosewala was recently murdered in broad daylight, sending the whole of Punjab into mourning. As soon as Lovepreet lifted 163kg in his final snatch attempt at the weightlifting hall of the National Exhibition Centre, the 24-year-old broke into Moosewala's quintessential 'thigh-five' celebration in tribute.
