For the better part of the 60 minutes, it was a contest between South African goalkeeper Gowen Jones and the Indian strike force. For the first 20 minutes of the men's semifinals between the two sides on Saturday, the 28-year-old was the wall, blocking a barrage of Indian attacks.
It took a brilliant effort from a young Abhishek to break through and that was the beginning of India's march into the final. India survived some anxiousness in the dying moments of the match, but pulled off a 3-2 win. Mandeep Singh and Jugraj Singh were the other scorers for India.
