CVS issues recall of best-selling eye drops over sterile concerns

  • CVS supplier Medtech has initiated a recall of select lots of Clear Eyes Redness Relief Lubricant Eye Drops due to concerns that the products may not be sterile.
  • The recall affects 0.5-fluid-ounce bottles with UPC 678112254156, CVS SKU 318160, and expiration dates ranging from July through November 2027.
  • Using unsterile eye drops can introduce bacteria or harmful substances into the eye, potentially causing serious infections and complications.
  • Customers should immediately stop using the affected drops and return them to a CVS pharmacy with their receipt to receive a full refund.
  • This announcement follows a separate recall in July involving Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief over similar sterility assurance concerns.
