Customers allegedly lied about receiving their DoorDash order, so the angry Dasher went back to confront them

An angry DoorDash driver who claims a customer lied about receiving their order filmed herself returning to the customer’s front door to confront her over the alleged deception. The Dasher has since gone viral on TikTok as viewers commended her for being bold enough to actually go back to the house.

Most delivery apps like Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and DoorDash have a feature allowing customers to dispute an order. If some or all of the food didn’t show up, or there was something wrong with the order, customers can dispute it and potentially get a refund. Unfortunately, some people abuse the feature from time to time, disputing their order as a way of getting a free meal even when the food arrived and was fine.

But what people who order food through delivery services may be unaware of is that the delivery driver is usually notified when an order is disputed. One Dasher named Lainey decided she wasn’t going to let her customers get away with allegedly lying about their food not arriving when she had delivered it to them herself.

Lainey filmed herself marching up to the door and knocking. When they answered, Lainey pointed to one of the women sitting inside, saying, “I think it was you. I just delivered food here, but I got a notification that you didn’t get it.” The customer then shows the bag, telling Lainey, “I got it.” Lainey then asks her to cancel the dispute.

The customers promised to cancel the dispute

When Lainey told the customers she was informed they hadn’t got the food and asked them to cancel it the group didn’t fight her over it. One of the women told her, “I’ll cancel it. I’m sorry.”

Lainey’s video has since gone viral with over 4 million views and 700,000 likes. Viewers commended her no-nonsense attitude, telling her, “you’re a baddie for going back.” A second person wrote, “Good on you, this s–t has got to stop.” Many advised Lainey to send the video to DoorDash, as “they admitted to getting everything.”

Working for DoorDash can be a difficult job sometimes, but do Dashers really get punished if orders are disputed by customers? While there is no clear answer as to whether Dashers specifically get penalized for orders disputed by the customer, a Reddit thread from a few years ago asked a similar question and delivery drivers answered. “No, we don’t get penalized as long as we deliver the order to the address on the app.”

However, some said that frequent disputes could result in a punishment of some sort. Either way, it’s probably not advisable, nor worth it, to head back to a customer’s house to confront them over an order; who knows what could happen?
