Customer fumes at Evri courier who claimed she was out despite working from home

A woman has slammed parcel courier Evri - previously known as Hermes - as she continues to wait for her parcel.

In March, Hermes announced they were rebranding with the new name 'Evri' and left customers wondering if the service would change.

But since the rebrand, one woman has taken to popular parenting forum Mumsnet, claiming the service hasn't changed and she is missing her parcel which, she later revealed was bicycle.

On the forum named AIBU [Am I being unreasonable], she vented: "There was no reason to rebrand, they are still just the same bag of s****.

"Day six of "we tried to deliver your parcel but you weren't in..."

Keep anonymous she fumed: "I AM IN and I have been all along as WFH. There is no one to call, no one to complain to. I am no further with the seller either, raised it with them but no one has got back to me.

"I know the simple option would be just to cancel and get a refund but I want my sodding parcel as it's not something I can reorder as it's no longer available.

"Any similar issues? (Haha, stupid question!) Any tips? How did you track down your Evri / Hermes driver? How long before they actually delivered and WHY? OH WHY??? do they keep saying they have been when they have not", she desperately quizzed fellow Mumsnet users.

"AIBU to still be holding out for hope or is it time to give up and make peace with the fact I'm NEVER getting my parcel?"

The comments were flooded with people sharing their experience of Evri and Hermes.

One wrote: "They have a habit of leaving parcels inside my wheelie garden waste bin."

Another bluntly suggested: "Yes. Time to demand a refund. They've lost it. Sorry."

To which the woman replied: "How the hell do you lose a BIKE???"

Another frustrated Hermes customers said she tried to avoid the company, even after they've rebranded, since she claimed they threw a fragile parcel over the fence.

The mum fumed: "A pet shop lost me as a customer as Hermes wasn't able to deliver pet food despite us all being in on all the days they said they tried to deliver.

"I asked for a lasagne dish for Christmas, we came back from a short break and DH [dear husband] discovered a package in the garden - a ceramic form broken in pieces as they decided to throw it over the garden gate.

"DD's [dear daughter] birthday present ended in the general rubbish bin, luckily we added another bag just before bin day and discovered it."

Another mentioned how she changes the location as soon as she sees who the courier is: "The minute I get a notification that my parcel is being delivered by Hermes I change the delivery to the local shop as they seem to be incapable of working a buzzer system."

While some shared the same frustration as the woman, others praised their local driver - even befriending them.

"We used to have a s*** Hermes driver, then he was replaced with our current one. He was so good with parcels when we were ordering loads in the newborn days that we got him a Christmas card", one woman praised.

A second echoed: "Our usual guy who does deliveries is great!"

"I find Evri very good! My lady is fabulous and has become a friend", a third interjected.

A spokesperson for Evri said: "Evri successfully delivers over 750 million parcels a year but occasionally things do go wrong. Anyone experiencing delivery issues should contact their retailer/seller in the first instance who will then contact Evri if necessary."
