Current KenPom projection has MSU Basketball winning Big Ten

As of right now, Michigan State is projected to win the Big Ten regular season title for the first time since 2020.

KenPom ratings currently are projecting Michigan State to finish tied atop the Big Ten in the regular season. KenPom has the Spartans finishing the Big Ten slate with a 13-7 conference record, which would tie with UCLA, Michigan and Maryland for first place in the league.

Michigan State is off to a strong start in conference play with a pair of blowout victories last week over Minnesota and Nebraska. At 8-2 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten play, Michigan State has started to receive some national buzz as one of the true contenders in the league. These KenPom projections would only further that narative.

Michigan State has been off this week, but will return to action next week with a pair of non-conference games. The Spartans will first play in-state rival Oakland at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Tuesday, and then host Florida Atlantic on Saturday from the Breslin Center.
