KOLKATA: The vexed issue of 'home advantage’ reared its head after Kolkata Knight Riders went down to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their opening match at the Eden Gardens here last week.
Ajinkya Rahane, skipper of the defending champions, said after the match that they “would love to see some spin in this wicket”, keeping in mind KKR’s spin-heavy bowling unit. However, the middle-order batter did not blame the side’s defeat on the wicket and sounded realistic when he said the “wicket was under covers and so it played differently”.
