A Cumbernauld dad nearly died from sepsis after scraping his knuckles while working on his car.
Stephen Rae was forced to have his arm amputated in May after being blighted by infections, five years after he injured his right hand - which he dismissed as a minor cut at first.
A month after the car incident, the 40-year-old woke to discover his right forearm was extremely swollen before being admitted to hospital on an IV drip to treat the blood poisoning.
