A much-loved dad from Cumbernauld has died after being given just weeks to live following a cancer diagnosis.
Malcolm MacKay had gone to the doctors due to feeling tired and breathless but had put his symptoms down to asthma. He then went to A&E with back pain and an x-ray discovered a 7cm tumour.
The 55-year-old was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was given one year to live. The rapid growth of the tumour later forced doctors to give him just two weeks to live.
