Cumbernauld Colts boss David Proctor is taking nothing for granted in their Scottish Cup clash with Dalbeattie Star this weekend, despite thrashing their Lowland League rivals 5-2 last month.
The sides meet again on Saturday in a first round tie at Broadwood and Colts will be favourites having brushed Star aside at Islecroft on August 6, where they raced into a 5-1 lead by half-time.
But Proctor isn't getting complacent.
He said: "With it being a home tie that is definitely a plus point for us.
"We played really well in our last game against them, started at a really high tempo and Dalbeattie couldn't live with us.
"They picked up a point at Cowdenbeath since then, although they are still at the bottom of the league, but they will be desperate to use the Scottish Cup as a bit of a relief for them away from the pressures of the league.
"We will need to be wary of that and we certainly won't be taking anything for granted.
"We will approach it in the same way we did the last game.
"We are on a good run of form so if we focus on ourselves I think we'll be okay."
Colts were sidelined with the rest of senior football at the weekend as their South Challenge Cup clash with Jeanfield Swifts was postponed as a mark of respect for the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Proctor added: "We are hoping to get back to a bit of normality, but we will be able to show our respects this weekend in whatever way the SFA guides us on that.
"We've had the pandemic and now the cost of living crisis, so football is certainly a release for a lot of people and it is important to get that back."
