Culture Night is returning to Ireland and will take place on Friday, September 23.
This year, the event will shine extra focus on Ireland's night time culture with events taking place into the late hours of the night. With events being added to the roster every day in the lead up to Culture Night 2022, Dubs can expect to enjoy experiences in the realms of art, theatre, film, fashion, dance, literature and much more.
Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin TD promised that this year's Culture Night will be "even more exciting" as organisers introduce Culture Night Late.

She said: "It is really encouraging to see Culture Night pushing the boundaries this year and supporting and promoting the Night-Time Economy with a programme of late night flagship events and facilitating later openings of arts and cultural venues across the country. The additional funding for this initiative provided by my Department will help promote this late night culture and provide opportunities for artists and venues to try something new."
2022 sees Culture Night in its 17th year, celebrating the diverse cultures found across the island of Ireland. There is plenty to expect when celebrating Culture Night in Dublin including Night Shift, an outdoor journey through the landscapes of IMMA where participants will come across framed artworks along the way.
Additionally, Dublin’s Leopold Bloom Press will host a late night of literature and Joycean history entitled Seeing Ulysses. As If By Chance in Dublin, a live site-specific performance on the streets of Tallaght, will explore stories of love and intimacy.
There will also be SAMETAH, an art and craft exhibition featuring a group of visual artists across various disciplines by The Dublin Desi Artists Collective. Other events taking place in Dublin for Culture Night include a live puppet show at Meeting House Square and an aerial and acrobatic performance at Wood Quay Amphitheatre.
All activities taking place in Dublin and around Ireland are free to attend although some will require pre-booking through the festival's website.
Maureen Kennelly, Arts Council Director said of the annual celebration: "Culture Night is a night for us all to come together and enjoy our culture while also reminding us of the artistic and creative experiences that continue to be available to us year round."
