Art, music and culture lovers are gearing up for a busy Culture Night in Dublin when it takes place on Friday, September 23.
This year's Culture Night shines a spotlight on Ireland's night time culture and economy with an added array of events that are taking place in the later hours of the night.
From dance to music to art, here are our picks for the best things to check out during Culture Night in Dublin.

Acid Granny pop up performance
Acid Granny, with their trolley and sound system, will be staging a pop up performance on Dublin's Capel Street for Culture Night.
Starting at 8.30pm, the performance will aim to be a reflection of modern life in Dublin City, sampling overheard conversations that take place in the capital.
Culture Night at the National Gallery of Ireland
There will be lots of things to do and see at the National Gallery of Ireland on Culture Night, including the headline event, Painting Mirror, which an interactive live digital art display that puts you in the frame of your own masterpiece on a grand scale.
Both children and adults can get involved by having their photo taken and getting it turned into a portrait in real time.
Other things taking place at the National Gallery on Culture Night include a projection of well-known painting and photographs onto the buildings Merrion Square façade and visits to the Print Gallery.
Culture Night Comedy at the Ha'Penny Bridge Inn
There will be plenty of laughs to be had during Culture Night in Dublin, including a show at the Ha'Penny Bridge Inn.
Taking place at 2.30pm, the line-up for Culture Night includes some of Ireland's top comedians. This is followed by another gig across the river at The Grand Social at 5pm.
The best part? Both shows are free to attend.
Culture Night at Atelier Now: Open Studio with Maser
Maser is perhaps Ireland's most well-known street artist and the genius behind some well-known works of art will be at Atelier Now on Charlemont Square for an Open Studio and Artist Talk from 6pm.
Culture Night 2022 at EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum
EPIC, which was named Europe's best tourist attraction on multiple occasions, celebrates Culture Night on September 23 with free entry for visitors to experience the interactive experience.
Expect to learn all about Irish emigration and how folk from this tiny island made waves around the world.
Culture Night at The Tara Building
The Tara Building is a wonderful hub of culture and creativity in the city and on Culture Night, the space will welcome visitors for tours, an artwork reveal and creative talks.
Walking Tour of Dublin Port
Dublin Port’s history dates back to 1707 and Culture Night will give Dubs the opportunity to discover the most interesting parts of its story.
Tours take place every hour form 4pm until 7pm.
Live Tattooing at Dublin Ink
Culture Night will give tattoo enthusiasts the chance to witness some live tattoo work and even give it a go themselves.
From 7pm until 11pm, there will also be live music.
Dublin Comic Market
Comic Book fans will want to head to Dublin City Comics on Mary Street on Culture Night a market showcasing local writers, artists and other creatives.
They’ll have signings, sketches and limited prints from some of their local comic creators from 4pm until 9pm.
Dublin Castle
From 6pm until 10pm on Culture Night, there will be free entry to Dublin Castle with no pre-booking required.
Meditation Workshop at the Dublin Buddhist Centre
Metta, or loving-kindness, is a core part of Buddhist meditation together with mindfulness.
Between 6.30pm and 7.30pm at the Dublin Buddhist Centre on James Joyce Street, there will be a free workshop to teach visitors ways of cultivating states of emotional positivity and freedom of heart and mind.
Casa Mexico Exhibition
Casa Mexico is a cultural centre dedicated to promoting Mexican Art and Culture on Phibsborough Road.
The Colours of Mexico Tradition and Culture features over 40 paintings and sculptures on show to commemorate the Independence of Mexico..
Meanwhile, there will be Mexican food, hot and cold drinks will also be available in their dedicated store. The centre will be open on Culture night from 4pm until 11pm.
Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again
Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again can be found in Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre on Westmorland Street and will be free to view on Culture Night from 5pm until 9pm.
Expect to learn about the life and work of Seamus Heaney through the National Library’s extensive archive of Heaney documents on a self-guided tour.
Concerts and performances at Meeting House Square
Perhaps the most popular events to take place as part of Culture Night in Dublin every year are the live performances that take place at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar.
This year, audiences will be able to catch Samul Nori Drummers, a hand-crafted puppet show, emerging artist Tadhg, Pólca 4, Dublin Modular and the Walkeleles.
