Culture Night takes place this Friday, September 23 and sees a huge range of events happening across Dublin, including plenty of live music.
Whether it's dance, jazz or acoustic music you're looking for, there is a slew of great gigs and concerts taking place in Dublin on Culture Night, and they're free to attend.
Here are the best gigs, concerts and live music events taking place in Dublin on Culture Night this Friday, September 23.

Culture Night at Meeting House Square
Perhaps one of the largest live music events to take place every year as part of Culture Night is at Meeting Hoise Square.
This year's line-up of performances includes ukulele group The Walkeleles from 6.15pm, Korean drummers Samul Nori Drummers from 6.45pm, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Tadgh from 8.45pm, and a live set from Dublin Modular, an artist-run platform and alternative club collective playing a mix of electronic music from 10pm until midnight.
The R.A.G.E.
Ireland’s Largest second-hand record shop, R.A.G.E. on Crow Street in Temple Bar, is presenting an eclectic evening of live music in their intimate basement store.
The line-up includes two-time free-style scratch world champion Djackulate, shapeshifter Henry Earnest, the jangly music of Banríon and rowdy trad duo Ispíní na hÉireann.
The event kicks of at 9pm and finishes at midnight.
Late Night Sessions at The Clockwork Door
The Clockwork Door, located on Wellington Quay, is Dublin's dedicated alternative alcohol-free space and on Culture Night this Friday, the venue is hosting Late Night Sessions.
Between 9pm and midnight, they will welcome visitors for a selection of entertainers, performers, oddities, games, drinks, snacks and good company.
Night Moves at Fruit & Veg Market
Dublin's historic Fruit & Veg Market will host Night Moves, a celebration of Dublin’s current cross-generational club culture.
Taking place between 4.30pm and 11pm, the line-up includes diverse live DJ performances from the Irish electronic community such as Billy Scurry, pop Dungeon and Lumo Club.
Although the event is free to attend, it must be booked in advance.
Late Browsing and Live Music at Marrowbone Books
Marrowbone Books, a small second-hand bookshop in Dublin 8, will celebrate Culture Night with a programme of live music performances and readings kicking off around 6.30pm.
Expect late night book browsing accompanied by trad musicians and sisters Sinéad and Catríona Kennedy.
Culture Night at Spencer Dock
Dublin's Spencer Dock is to come alive for Culture Night with a number of experiences for those revelling in the festivities this Friday.
Among the things happening there is a number of live musical performances including Discovery Gospel Choir between 6pm and 6.30pm, and performances from The Molloy boat featuring vocalist and composer Macdara Yeates from 7pm.
Additionally, you will be able to catch Cabra musician Ruby Moss between 8pm and 9pm, and Dublin sister duo Zeztra from 9pm.
Live music in Tallaght
between 5pm and 7pm on Culture Night, The Big Picture Tallaght will host NOISE, a live performance by a group of girls and young women aged 14–18 who have spent the summer writing and recording new music specially for Culture Night.
This event will also be the unveiling of a fresco by the Dublin-based Mexican street artist KinMx, which was created in response to this collaboration.
Also taking place in Tallaght between 10pm and 11pm is a live performance from Bambi and Dreamcycles in Rua Red. Expect an extended mix of techno and ambient music, mixing DJ sets and live performance in the Café Space in the Blessington Road venue.
The Solely Blues Club at Arthur's
From 9pm until 11pm, Arthur’s Blues & Jazz Club in The Liberties will mark Culture Night with an open mic night featuring acoustic blues music from before 1960.
The night also includes performances from various other musicians playing the likes of Big Bill Broonzy, Skip James, Big Mama Thornton, Robert Johnson, Elizabeth Cotton, WC Handy and more.
The Animal Gang at The Well
From 7.30pm at The Well at Stephen's Green, catch live music from up-and-comers The Animal Gang, fresh from their latest single release ‘Paper Plane’ which has been getting airplay nationwide.
There will also be support from Dog Day Afternoon on the ground floor.
DCU Culture Night
DCU's Glasnevin campus celebrates Culture Night by inviting us along for live brass band performance in the main mall, a tour of DCU’s Arts Collection and some woolly surprises between 4pm and 6pm.
Meanwhile, DCU's St Patrick’s Campus will open its doors for live musical performances as well as historical and heritage tours and talks between 5.30pm and 9pm.
Doras Buí Celebrates Coolock Culture Night
Doras Buí Celebrates Coolock Culture Night will be held in Aryfield Community Centre between 4pm and 10.30pm and will include entertainment full of diversity and local intercultural entertainers, including Dublin Dance Company, singer Eddie Sherlock, local traditional musicians, local Latin American dancers, poets and speakers.
Music in the Courtyard at IMMA
DJ Nigel Wood will play his contemporary World Music collection on Culture Night between 6pm and 8.30pm.
