Cult filmmaker to produce new ‘swashbuckling comedy’ on West End

  • Quentin Tarantino's next project is a period comedy play titled The Popinjay Cavalier, set in 1830s Europe.
  • The play, described as a “sweeping celebration of theatre” with his signature style, will debut in London's West End in January 2027.
  • Tarantino will relocate to London to direct the production, which is being made with Sonia Friedman Productions and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
  • He is still deciding on his tenth and final film, having previously considered and then abandoned The Movie Critic.
  • The filmmaker is in no rush to make his final movie, stating he wants to wait until his son is older to ensure he remembers the experience.
