Crystal Palace transfer latest amid fresh claims over Chelsea midfielder loan and Wilfried Zaha

Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in bringing Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek back to the club on loan.

The England international was on loan with the Eagles during the 2017-18 season, bagging two goals and four assists in 24 Premier League matches. His performances with Palace earned him his first England cap in November 2017, playing the entire match as Gareth Southgate’s side drew 0-0 with Germany.

Loftus-Cheek has gone on to earn ten England caps since then, but he has struggled to hold down a first-team spot with Chelsea amid injury problems. The 26-year-old had another loan spell with Fulham in the Premier League two seasons ago.

But Loftus-Cheek continues to struggle to cement a first-team spot at Stamford Bridge and The Sun claim Palace could turn their attentions to Chelsea midfielder as an alternative option to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Morgan Gibbs-White. Their report claims Palace are willing to pay £20million for the attacking midfielder but Wolves are reluctant to sell as Raul Jimenez’ injury opens up a slot in their first-team.

Elsewhere, GiveMeSport have reported about Wilfried Zaha being linked with a move to Chelsea. The Palace winger is reportedly on the Blues’ list of transfer targets this summer, according to FootMercato, as Zaha enters the final year of his contract with Palace.

Jose Mourinho’s Roma have also been linked with Palace’s star man, while Chelsea have been linked with a number of wingers despite their capture of Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, with GiveMeSport suggesting Thomas Tuchel wants to add extra squad depth and Zaha could be an option.

Zaha has previously been linked with Chelsea and several other clubs in recent years, but a move away has failed to materialise, with the Ivory Coast international staying at Palace.
