Liverpool fan and Crystal Palace midfielder Will Hughes was filmed shushing Manchester United's supporters in the aftermath of Casemiro being sent off during Saturday's Premier League meeting at Old Trafford.
Trailing 2-0 following Bruno Fernandes' first-half penalty and Marcus Rashford's 19th goal of the season just past the hour mark, Palace were given hope of securing a route back into the contest when Casemiro was sent off with 70 minutes on the clock. The former Real Madrid ace was given a straight red card for appearing to grab Hughes by the neck in a mass melee that developed on the far side of the pitch.
United's players had taken exception to a rough challenge from Jeffrey Schlupp on Antony, resulting in the Brazilian being barged off the pitch, and Casemiro was involved in the fracas after the incident. He got hold of Hughes, placing his hands towards his neck, and was dismissed following a VAR review and referee Andre Marriner looking at the pitchside monitor.

The angle Marriner was shown appeared to show Casemiro holding Hughes by the neck. However, an alternative angle that later came to light later and was not shown to Marriner at the time, showed that the Brazilian international had, in fact, got hold of Hughes' shirt collar.
United manager Erik ten Hag, speaking in the immediate aftermath of the game, confirmed that United "will think" about appealing the decision. As it stands, Casemiro is currently suspended for their next three Premier League matches.
After Marriner had sent Casemiro for an early bath, leaving United's fans furious in the stands, Hughes started walking towards the Stretford End ahead of the game resuming. He stared straight into the crowd and started pointing to his ear and putting his finger over his lips, urging the United fans to be quiet.
The midfielder also displayed six fingers, holding them up to seemingly reference the number of Champions League titles that Liverpool have won. Hughes has gone on record in the past to confirm that he is a Liverpool supporter, although he was born in Surrey and grew up in Derby.

Speaking to the Daily Express back in 2016, Hughes said: "Steven Gerrard, with the way he played, the way he went about his game and his demeanour was my favourite player growing up and I followed him quite closely. I used to go quite a bit to watch them when I was younger and an academy player but obviously it’s a lot more difficult nowadays.
"That was Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano, Fernando Torres and Gerrard in their prime. It wasn't a bad team. Why Liverpool? I couldn’t really tell you.
"They were just the team I followed growing up so you can't say I was a glory supporter because they weren't very successful in that period. I just had an admiration for them and followed them ever since."
