Crystal Palace injury news for Newcastle United trip as Patrick Vieira has almost fully fit squad

Newcastle United will be looking to extend their winning run to three matches when they host Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening. The Magpies have earned victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City in recent weeks and can climb up to 11th in the table with another three points.

Eddie Howe’s side effectively confirmed their Premier League status on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 win over the Foxes thanks to Bruno Guimaraes’ double and will feel they can play the remainder of the season without pressure. And on Wednesday, they will be coming up against a Palace side hopeful of bouncing back from their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea at the weekend.

Palace have enjoyed a good first season under Patrick Vieira and will now be looking to ensure it does not end on a whimper. So ahead of tomorrow’s game, here is a look at some early injury news from tomorrow’s visitors.

Luka Milivojevic – hamstring

Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic came on for the final five minutes at Wembley on Sunday but will miss the match at St. James’ Park after feeling something in his hamstring. Milivojevic has been bit-part player under Vieira, though, and in all likelihood wouldn’t have started tomorrow anyway, especially given that Conor Gallagher will return to the squad.

What Vieira said (19.04.22): “Luka will not be a part of the group. He felt something in his hamstring.”

Nathan Ferguson – thigh

Nathan Ferguson has played just once since his move to Crystal Palace almost two years ago due to a series of serious injuries. And on the comeback from his latest problem, Ferguson has suffered yet another setback.

What Vieira said (08.04.22): “It’s a new [injury]. He’s really disappointed as he’s been working quite hard. It’s just a step back.”
