Cryptic Neymar to Chelsea transfer hint dropped despite Frenkie de Jong Manchester United theory

Could Neymar to Chelsea really happen this summer? With Paris Saint-Germain open to selling their star player who struggled with consistent game time last season due to injuries and other issues which saw him fall down the pecking order, a few options could open up for him regarding a potential exit this summer.

Despite it initially being described as mission impossible to get Neymar out of PSG this summer due to the finances involved, the Parisians compromise to pay some of the big wages could help a club like Chelsea potentially afford a loan deal for a player who has a good relationship with current manager Thomas Tuchel.

The Blues have been name checked as one of the 30-year-old's options that could come up on the table this summer if PSG's No. 10 were to push hard for this exit. Others include the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle, Juventus and potentially Barcelona, if they can sort out their finances in time. Xavi is reportedly a huge fan of a player who made up part of the lethal Messi-Suarez-Neymar combination during his four year stint in Spain before his world record £200million move went through to the Ligue 1 Champions in 2017.

With Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe now the true stars of the show, coupled with the fact that Thiago Silva has tried to influence his Brazilian compatriot to give the Premier League a chance, in spite of his previous admission of not wanting to play in England, where Neymar goes next will surely dominate the rest of this summer's transfer window.

But will he actually be leaving? Not only are Chelsea prioritising trying to wrap up deals for Raphinha and Raheem Sterling before even considering making an attempt but his current club have dropped somewhat of a telling hint.

In their latest kit launch, Neymar was picture looking rather happy. Obviously, this event may have taken place some time ago but it's certainly a cryptic hint to suggest that the former Santos prodigy will be staying put in Ligue 1 this season.

A similar thing happened to Frenkie de Jong, who himself was involved in Barcelona's kit launch ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, although he is now on the verge of sealing a £56m plus add-ons move to Man United which is expected to be confirmed soon.

Therefore, kit launches, despite being a cryptic hint, don't necessarily mean a player involved will be wearing the same kit come the start of a new campaign. Just like de Jong and Neymar, the same happened to Bastian Schweinsteiger in 2017 when his United move was confirmed shortly after Bayern Munich had released images of him and others in their kit launch for that specific season.

Cue the Neymar to Chelsea hype continuing on.
