An OAP who was left on a hospital trolley for 33 hours told her stunned family she wanted to die. Graeme Smith was trying to help his 92-year-old grandma after she fell ill at her care home in Aintree on New Year's Eve.
She had waited hours for an ambulance to arrive then faced a further delay when paramedics got caught up in a queue of vehicles that were also trying to enter the hospital. She finally arrived at the hospital at 9pm.
What followed was a painful and lengthy wait in a hospital corridor, reportedly filled with other sick and elderly patients, some who had soiled themselves during the wait. As reported by ECHO, Graeme, 37, from Crosby, said about his grandma: "She arrived at the hospital at 9pm but didn't get a place on a ward until 6am on January 2.
