Cruz Beckham 'distancing himself from family to pursue music career'

Cruz Beckham is said to be distancing himself from the rest of his family in order to pursue a serious music career.

The 17-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham is reportedly planning to relocate to Los Angeles to try and make his dream come true.

And it’s believed he has already signed with Tap Music, who represent the likes of Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey and discovered Dua Lipa when she was working in a bar.

Despite being a teenager, Cruz is fiercely independent and determined to have a successful career.

An insider said Cruz sees ‘Brand Beckham’ as a hindrance rather than a help to his career and wants to make it on his own.

The source told Heat magazine: “Cruz has always had a bit of a rebellious streak. With two older brothers he grew up fast, but he couldn’t be more different.

“He’s seen them both struggle. Brooklyn trying to be a celebrity chef or photographer and getting criticised for having no talent, and Romeo for never quite being able to realise his dream of being a football star like his dad. He doesn’t want to end up like them.

“Cruz has inherited a lot of his parents’ ambition and decided early on that music was his passion – but he doesn’t want to use Brand Beckham to make it happen."

The youngest Beckham brother wants to move 5,500 miles away from his family to pursue his dreams of becoming a recording artist, the source revealed.

Although mum Victoria shot to global fame as part of The Spice Girls, Cruz is apparently dead set on making it on his own merit.

He has already been in the studio recording some songs and meeting with people in the record industry to try and build some “street cred”, the source said.

They added that while mum Victoria admires Cruz for his determination, she is worried he won’t accept any help from her or dad David.

She is also concerned her youngest son is developing somewhat of a ‘bad boy’ image.

This comes after Cruz posed in just his underwear for i-D magazine last year when he was just 16.

He also hit the headlines recently after being pictured partying with a girl sat on his lap shortly after splitting from ex-girlfriend Bliss Chapman, the daughter of one of Victoria’s pals.

But it seems Cruz is serious about knuckling down for his music as he has been posting shots on Instagram of himself playing instruments.

In one recent photo, the teenager is seen wearing a hoodie as he plays his acoustic guitar.

Another shot from November last year shows the youngster singing into a microphone at a recording studio.

He has even been getting music advice from Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband Marc Anthony.

In a post from last summer, Cruz shared a photo of the pair together and captioned it: “@marcanthony showing me the ways.”
