- The outbreak affected 104 passengers and 49 crew members, with most experiencing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea.
- Princess Cruises said that sanitation teams disinfected the ship and isolated those who were unwell to prevent further spread.
- The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is conducting an environmental assessment and outbreak investigation into the incident.
- Norovirus is a highly contagious virus commonly associated with cruise ships due to close quarters, though such outbreaks account for only about one per cent of all reported cases nationwide.
