The opening tie of this season’s Ulster Club Senior Football Championship pits the champions of Armagh and Monaghan against each other in an intriguing contest.
Crossmaglen Rangers are renowned as one of the greatest club sides in the country and claimed their 46th Armagh SFC crown last month with an impressive 12-point win over first-time finalists Granemore at the Athletic Grounds.
The South Armagh side were beaten in the last two Armagh finals, but they’ll be hopeful of mounting a serious challenge for provincial honours in the coming weeks as 11-time Ulster champions.

Ballybay, in contrast, have yet to win a game in the Ulster series, but ended Scotstown’s bid for a hat-trick of Monaghan titles last month.
They are managed by Mark Doran and Jerome Johnston Snr and the latter would love to upset the odds and set up a crack at his native Kilcoo in the quarter-final next weekend.
