Locals are set to get first dibs on jobs to help out at the planned concerts at Croke Park this year.
In an email - seen by us - applications are now open to join the Croke Park Community Team.
It comes ahead of Croke Park’s planned seven sold-out concerts next year, with Garth Brooks and Ed Sheeran selling nearly 550,000 tickets between them.
In an email to local residents, stadium bosses are looking for “great neighbours who work during stadium events to help other neighbours and monitor & report event day activity in our area."
The email states: “The Croke Park Community Team is made up entirely of local residents. They are great neighbours who work during stadium events to help other neighbours and monitor & report event day activity in our area.
“This is a paid local employment opportunity. It's fantastic to be recruiting for even more great neighbours to join the team for the 2022 season.
"If you love the local buzz and excitement on event days and are looking for a new way to get involved in your community and help your neighbours, this might be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.”
The email says they are looking for “great neighbours” who are reliable and are available to work outdoors and at weekends throughout the year, living full-time in the Croke Park community area with excellent local knowledge, passionate about our community area, friendly, approachable and good at helping people, strong communicators who enjoy working as part of a team.
The key responsibilities in the role include “monitoring and reporting resident access, littering, anti-social behaviour and illegal parking in the stadium’s community area”, as well as liaising with members of An Garda Síochána, Dublin City Council Waste Management Services and other event day stadium teams.
The application form for this role is available upon request from community@crokepark.ie, while the closing date for applications is February 25.
