Sven Goran Eriksson has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo's reported move to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, claiming that the 37-year-old could play in Europe's top leagues for another six months at least.
Ronaldo looks set to join the Saudi league side amid his mutually agreed departure from Manchester United, accepting a huge figure to play in the middle east. The seven-time Ballon D'Or winner left Old Trafford last month following a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticised multiple aspects of the club and its leadership in recent years.
World football's all-time leading goalscorer is currently in Qatar, which borders Saudi Arabia, for the World Cup and the transfer could be completed imminently due to the star currently being unattached and free to speak with any club. However, Eriksson whose England side were knocked out by Ronaldo's Portugal at both Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup, believes it is too soon for such a move.

The former England boss told Football Betting: "I don't know Cristiano Ronaldo very well but if he decides to carry on playing football, I'm sure he will be extremely well prepared for the next step of his career. You have players like Ronaldo, (Lionel) Messi and Zlatan (Ibrahimovic), they're all old but they're extremely proud.
"They don't want to go out there if they're not performing. They want to show that they can still do it. I wouldn't say that Ronaldo's career is finished. Ronaldo doesn't need more money and he doesn't need to go to Saudi Arabia, he can still play at a very top club in Europe for half a season at least."
Ronaldo attempted to seal a move away from Old Trafford last summer, with limited success, despite talks between his agent Jorge Mendes and Premier League rivals Chelsea and it remains to be seen whether or not there is any interest in the Portuguese star from any of the Premier League's elite clubs following his acrimonious departure from United.
