Cristiano Ronaldo 'signs' for next club as Chelsea get blocked by agent in Man Utd transfer deal

Your Chelsea transfer round-up on Tuesday, December 6.

Ronaldo's 'signs' contract

Cristiano Ronaldo is moving closer to securing a transfer following his Manchester United exit.

The Portuguese forward was a target for Chelsea last summer after Todd Boehly met with his agent Jorge Mendes, but he looks increasingly likely to have played his last Premier League game. Recent reports suggest he is set to sign a a two-and-a-half-year contract with Saudi outfit Al Nassr.

That's according to Spanish outlet Marca, and would halt any chances Graham Potter's men have of securing a deal for Ronaldo.

It will mean that Ronaldo is still playing professionally into his 40s and could earn him over £400m at the same time.

Gvardiol's agent speaks out

Chelsea won't be able to complete the signing of Josko Gvardiol in the same way they secured a deal for his teammate Christopher Nkunku.

The 20-year-old centre-back has continued to attract admirers whilst playing for Croatia in Qatar and will have caught the attention of Chelsea once more after a summer move failed to materialise.

Gvardiol hasn't got a release clause or a pre-agreement to leave RB Leipzig though, and his agent has revealed that no decision on his future has been made yet. He said, "We are not in a hurry and I can make clear that there are no pre-agreements with any clubs."

£14.6m January windfall

Graham Potter may be able to offload some of the best performing World Cup stars in January to secure an extra vat of money to splash on transfers for Chelsea.

The manager has most of his squad missing due to the action in Qatar, but it varies from key first team players all the way to those that wish to leave, and good showings from several stars could give a monetary increase to the winter budget.

Amongst these are Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic. The duo have had good tournaments for Morocco and USA respectively, but still see their club futures elsewhere. Ziyech is currently valued at £14.6million by Transfermarkt and could leave as soon as next month.
