Both Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo could be on the move this summer for a number of different reasons.
From wanting to have Champions League ambitions achieved to needing to feel loved and special again, both superstars have big decisions to make ahead of 2022/23 with the FIFA World Cup this winter meaning the pair have to be on top form and enjoying their football in the build-up to the Qatar World Cup. Unsurprisingly, with Chelsea yet to make an attacking signing to date amid Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha snubs, new owner Todd Boehly is trying all he can to fulfil the wish made to Thomas Tuchel in relation to the £200million transfer budget promised with a few 'marquee' names expected through the door in what could end up being six new signings for the Blues.
At this current moment, there is more traction in relation to Ronaldo's potential Premier League switch to west London with The Athletic reporting that Chelsea are now considering following up on agent talks held a month ago by making a formal attempt to sign the Portuguese. Having missed the first two days of pre-season and with fears that the Red Devils are in the dark regarding whether or not the 37-year-old will participate and travel for their upcoming tour of Australia, an exit seems inevitable even if it isn't to happen in the immediate future.

Manager Tuchel needs to give the green light to this operation before anything materialises but he certainly now has food for thought. Alternatively, with much change on and off the pitch this summer that has taken place at the Parc de Prince, the Brazilian international is no longer viewed as vital to the PSG project with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe ahead in the pecking order.
Consequently, new sporting director Luis Campos who was an instrumental figure in bringing in Nice's Christophe Galtier who will be taking over from the sacked Mauricio Pochettino, has decided that it may be best for the 30-year-old to find a new challenge elsewhere for next season. This stance could change though if Galtier's talks with the former Santos prodigy end well. The early signs are that Neymar may 'se queda' if the new manager's first words are anything to be taken at face value.
“I want Neymar to stay here with us. He’s kind of world-class player, all the managers in the world want top players like him," he said via Fabrizio Romano. “I’ve already clear ideas on my plan for Neymar here at PSG”.
Step into the ring Chelsea and despite these fresh ominous comments from Galtier, it has already been reported that Neymar as well as Ronaldo have been 'offered' in the direction of Boehly who can see the great appeal in signing one of the aforementioned pair for marketing and commercialisation reasons which coincide in addition to their world-class footballing abilities.
Regardless of whether or not one of these star figures is to make the switch to SW6 remains to be seen but both are set to go about their exit plans and 'protests' in different ways. According to Goal Journalist Bruno Andrade, he has tweeted that: 'Prickly plot twist: Cristiano Ronaldo missing training and Neymar anticipating his return to training.'
With both now having different stances on their pre-season involvement, it gives Chelsea a clearer picture about how each of them feel regarding their current relationships with the clubs they are plying their trade for.
