Actor Crispin Glover has turned the tables on a Jane Doe's 'baseless allegations' of battery and assault.
A Jane Doe has accused Glover, 61, of battery, fraud, malicious prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional stress, and wrongful eviction in a lawsuit. Per People, 'a series of disturbing incidents' prompted the Jane Doe to file the complaint.
'Jane Doe was essentially held captive and used for sex and free labour by Mr. Glover under false pretences,' the complaint stated. Doe, described as a model from the United Kingdom, has detailed a timeline of incidents beginning in 2015, when she first met Glover on social media.
Jane Doe Says the Abuse Started with 'Strange Advances'
Doe claims the Back to the Future actor made 'strange advances' to her in their online interactions, including messages convincing her to move to Los Angeles. Doe said she personally met Glover in Germany in 2023.
After that, Doe alleges that Glover started grooming her with 'promises of a new life where she could start over and have a career in the entertainment industry through some sort of business relationship.' These include a home and a job for Doe as Glover's assistant.
The complaint noted that Doe went to Los Angeles in 2024, but her hopes were immediately dashed. She allegedly 'found herself in a disturbing situation where Mr. Glover wanted to control her actions and track her whereabouts and basically serve him as a live in girlfriend/sex slave. She relied entirely on Mr. Glover's promises for money and shelter.'
Glover's Rep Addresses Assault Allegations
In a statement to TMZ, Glover's representative dismissed Doe's claims as 'baseless allegations in the strongest possible terms.
'Mr. Glover intends to vigorously defend himself and pursue all available relief,' the rep asserted. 'He is confident the judicial process will expose this lawsuit as a meritless fabrication.'
Glover's representative also addressed Doe's claim that on 2 March 2024, Glover locked her out of his Silver Lake home after she left to go to a mosque. When she tried to enter the house to get her cats, Glover allegedly attacked her, choking her after grabbing her neck.
After the incident, Doe claims that Glover called the police to report an unlawful intruder on his premises. Per TMZ, police confirmed an assault report from Glover that day, but there were no arrests.
Glover Flips Script, He Was the Real Victim, Rep Says
'The reality is that on 2 March 2024, Mr. Glover was the victim of an unprovoked felony assault by Jane Doe at his Los Angeles residence,' Glover's representative asserted.
'Mr. Glover called LAPD, which came to the scene, investigated, and arrested Jane Doe. These facts are documented by law enforcement records and by the restraining order filed by Mr. Glover against Jane Doe at that time.'
Per the complaint, Doe is suing Glover for damages. She says the events damaged her career and reputation, and that she was emotionally scarred by the 'traumatic' experience. She added that Glover is still contacting her to pursue a sexual relationship.
Glover has yet to personally address the allegations.
