Crimson Desert patch tackles endgame emptiness further with 5 more boss rematches, extra mounts, and new skills

Crimson Desert.

Pearl Abyss has pumped out yet another update for Crimson Desert – for the second time this week – this time focusing on the open-world game's new boss rematch feature.

Earlier this month, the developer heard fan complaints about endgame emptiness loud and clear. The further players got in the mammoth fantasy romp, the more sparse and less dangerous its world got, which is kind of the opposite experience you want to have as you turn your characters into monster-killing machines.

To tackles those endgame woes, Pearl Abyss added a whopping 69 boss rematches and a feature that saw enemies periodically retake strongholds you had previously liberated with the promise that both features were works in progress.

Now, in Crimson Desert's 1.07.00 patch, the studio has added five more bosses to take on once more: Muskan, Corrupted Caliburn, Goyen, Draven, the Crowcaller, and Clockwork White Horn.

Players would normally be able to re-challenge bosses wherever they were first encountered, but baddies originally found in the Abyss have been relocated above ground for their own rematches. You can see their locations in the in-game journal if you're lost.

Elsewhere in the Crimson Desert patch, the devs have added "additional wolf and bear types that can be registered as mounts" and upped the number of animals on the map that can be tamed as mounts more generally, while some mounts now have reins attached, as well.

Plus, Damiane has new unarmed combat skills, her and Oongka now have access to the Aerial Stab ability, and Kliff can pull off a 'Blinding Flash Finisher' when fighting with his fists.

If you're yet to try Pearl Abyss's new game, be sure to take a look at our Crimson Desert review to see why it's one of the hottest new games for 2026.
