Crimson Desert's relentless update cadence isn't slowing down anytime soon as the open-world game just got another bonkers patch, this time adding some minigames and the ability to nurture your baby pets until they become formidable, rideable mounts.
Developer Pearl Abyss today dropped Crimson Desert's 1.10.00 patch onto all platforms, and in my eyes, the headlining feature is the two new minigames: Pinball and Orb Roll. As someone who plays Yakuza minigames until my thumbs turn to jelly, these have me slightly scared, but imagining a medieval Pinball machine in the middle of this fantasy world is also a sight too funny to ignore.
Up next are improvements to the still work-in-progress re-blockade feature, which re-arms enemy strongholds now and then to keep the post-game world a little more populated. This time, Pearl Abyss buffed up the rewards from re-blockades and added the ability to suppress re-blockades in each region by going to the contribution assessor.
Finally, remember those baby wyvern and baby chick pets? You can now feed them, nurture them until they grow up, and then ride them into battle once they're big enough to carry your hench protag. I didn't expect Crimson Desert to have a lite pet sim side months after launch, but here we are...
All in all, Crimson Desert already seemed like a kind of Everything Game that wanted to throw as many features as possible into its sandbox. Now, I'm really, really convinced that's what's going on what with its in-depth house decorations, farming, pet management, minigames, side activities, and of course, all the action-adventure stuff you expect. Heck, even the farming scythe item can now actually be used to gather crops.
