Crescent moon sighted in Bhopal, Eid-ul-Fitr to be celebrated today

BHOPAL: Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across MP on Tuesday after the crescent moon was sighted. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated at the culmination of fasting month.

On Monday, Madhya Pradesh governor Mangubhai Patel has extended warm greetings and good wishes to the people of the state on Eid-ul-Fitr. He prayed for the state’s prosperity, progress and everyone’s welfare.

Patel in his message said ‘the happiness of Eid is a reward from God after the prayers of Ramazan and hard penance. The joy of Eid is in celebrating by helping the poor and needy. He has appealed to the people of the state to celebrate the festival of Eid in an affable atmosphere. Strengthen the glorious tradition of religious tolerance, harmony and brotherhood of the state. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also extended his greetings on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

On Sunday night, Ruyat-e-Hilal committee, led by Bhopal Qazi-e-Shahar, Maulana Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadwi announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Tuesday.
