‘Credibility thy name is Mallikarjun Kharge’: Navjot Sidhu after meeting Congress president

Navjot Singh Sidhu with Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh

New Delhi: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday called on party president Mallikarjun Kharge and party General Secretary incharge of Communications Jairam Ramesh in New Delhi.

Taking to Twitter, Sidhu said, "Nine Times MLA, Thrice Member Parliament, Champion for the cause of underprivileged, voice of truth ..... "Credibility thy name is Mallikarjun Kharge" Met and took blessings of the Hon'ble Congress President, he brings positive vibes and good fortune to the party."

On Thursday, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu met former party president Rahul Gandhi and "friend" Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the national capital and said his commitment to his leaders and the Punjab state would remain unfazed.

Sidhu met Gandhi for the first time after he was released on April 1 from Patiala Central Jail in Punjab after he was sentenced to one-year imprisonment by the Supreme Court in a three decades old road rage case.

"Met my Mentor Rahul ji and Friend, Philosopher, and Guide Priyanka ji in New Delhi today. You can Jail me, Intimidate me, Block all my financial accounts but My commitment to Punjab and My Leaders will neither flinch nor back an inch!!" Sidhu had tweeted.

Sidhu was sentenced to one year of imprisonment by the Supreme Court in May last year in the 1988 case of road rage in which he allegedly thrashed one Gurnam Singh, who later died in hospital. (with Agency inputs)
