Create welcome environment in schools, say speakers

LUCKNOW: From the sense of belongingness to fruitful participation and appreciation in school and other values that work in the well-being of a child were discussed at the school principals’ meet and seminar organised by The Times of India NIE (Newspaper in Education) in association with Conscious Leap on Wednesday.

Principals and managers of about 50 schools were present on the occasion.

Chief Guest Lalita Pradeep, director, UP Literacy and Alternate Education, said "It is an urgent need for us as educators to create a welcoming environment in the school as it can make a difference to generations." The panelists discussed the need for tackling mental health along with the overall development of the child. Ashutosh Srivastava, who is a clinical and counselling psychologist, said, "The last two years have been really difficult for everybody especially for kids because their development got confined to boundaries of technology.”

Agreeing with Srivastava, Sanjay Desai, who is the founder and CEO of Conscious Leap said, "It is the prime need of the hour to address the mental health of a child. The sense of uncertainty has troubled each one of us, but it helped in making us cognisant to bring well-being in the society."

Puja Ahuja, a senior career counsellor at Institute of Career Studies and panelist at the event, said, "We should count every individual as a special student and focus on the holistic profile of the child."

Social media influencer and student Meethika Dwivedi said, "It is the confidence that brings a positive change in the society. The appreciation makes a positive change in an individual. I have experienced this in my life as and when I changed my school a few years ago my peers and teachers helped me develop in every possible manner."
