Commuters waiting for a train to work on Friday morning were instead met with a herd of cows that turned up on the tracks.
The herd of cows appeared on the tracks at Godalming station, where commuters were waiting for a train to London Waterloo at 7am.
All services had to be suspended while staff removed the cows from the tracks, resulting in three hours of train delays on South Western Railway services between Portsmouth and London.
Fortunately, the cows were removed safely, but there were delays until around 10am.
South Western Railway tweeted: “We know it’s ‘Udderly’ unbelievable but here are the cows that blocked the railway lines at Godalming this morning.
“Luckily they had no ‘beef’ with us and we soon ‘moo’ved them on their way. We are sorry for the disruption this caused to your journey this morning.”
