The Cowboys and All-Pro guard Zach Martin agreed on a reworked deal Monday that will put an end to the team captain’s holdout, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal will pay him more than $18 million in each of the next two seasons and was confirmed by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
Martin originally was due to make $13.5 million in 2023, including a $1.7 million base salary. That’s far below the league’s top earners at the offensive guard position, and he has not reported to training camp due to his lack of a new deal. Dallas was fining Martin $50,000 a day for each day of training camp missed, according to Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News.
