Coach Todd Payten admits North Queensland are bracing for Jeremiah Nanai to test the open market as the sparkling tax-free appeal of the PNG Chiefs looms large.

Nanai comes off contract at the end of the 2027 season, so he can negotiate with rival clubs from November 1, unless he re-signs beforehand.
