Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons has never been able to reach 14 sacks in a season before, having always fallen just short of the mark. Entering the regular season finale against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, he’s sitting at 13 sacks on the year yet again, and the two-time All-Pro is hellbent on doing whatever it takes to reach a new career high.
“I literally just had this conversation with the guys today,” Parsons told reporters Wednesday. “At this point, it’s any means necessary. I might jump offsides twice this week. Something has to change. Something. It’s coming. It’s coming for sure.”

Parsons, who was named Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021, notched 13 sacks in his first NFL season and then tallied 13.5 in 2022. Now sitting at 13 exactly, he just needs one big play to eclipse his career high.
The personal milestone would of course come at the expense of Washington signal-caller Sam Howell, who will likely be spending the afternoon running away from the 24-year-old phenom. Parsons should feel good about his chances, as Howell has taken a league-leading 61 sacks on the season thus far.
The matchup between the Cowboys (11–5) and Commanders (4–12) is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox.
