We have a tie atop the NFC East. On Sunday night, the Dallas Cowboys dominated the Philadelphia Eagles in a relatively easy 33-13 win. The Cowboys improved to 10-3 and moved into a first-place tie with the Eagles.
It’s Philadelphia’s second consecutive blowout loss, as the Eagles fell to the 49ers last week, 42-19.
Dallas took control of this game early, as quarterback Dak Prescott led a 10-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a 13-yard touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb.
The Eagles appeared to have something going on their first drive, but quarterback Jalen Hurts fumbled deep in Cowboys’ territory, squandering a scoring opportunity. Prescott led Dallas on another drive that ended with rookie Brandon Aubrey making a 60-yard field. Aubrey would be a key figure for the Cowboys, making all four field-goal attempts on Sunday.
Philadelphia finally got on the board when kicker Jake Elliott kicked a field goal, but the Cowboys scored answered. The Eagles made another field goal, but again, Dallas responded with a touchdown and went into halftime, holding a 24-6 lead.
Rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter picked up a Dallas fumble in the third quarter and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown. It would be Philly’s only touchdown of the night.
Prescott outshined Hurts on Sunday, completing 24 of 39 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Hurts completed 18 of 27 attempts for 197 yards with one turnover.
The Eagles turned the ball over three times, as Hurts, DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown all fumbled. Brown paced the Eagles offense with nine receptions for 94 yards. Philadelphia rushed for 106 yards on 24 attempts.
The win was Dallas’ 15th consecutive home victory.
While the rivals are tied atop the NFC East, the Eagles still control their own destiny due to having one less conference loss. To make matters worse for Dallas, the Eagles don’t face a team with a winning record for the remainder of the season.
